“Pearl Rehabilitative Colony for Ungrateful Daughters” has been nominated for the Nebula. This was my first published story. It was my Clarion West week six story, workshopped under Chuck Palahniuk, and was published as the cover story for the December 2013 issue of Asimov’s. It was nominated for the Nebula in the novelette category. I am particularly excited to be nominated in the same category as my buddy and fellow Interfictions editor Christopher Barzak. I like Christopher but unfortunately, now I have to take him down in a one-on-one skating duel to the death. It’s sad.
